person on the phone told me yes. My friend was the one that told me about the job. so around 8am I went to the place and as for a app. The guy told me that they was not looking for anyone now. But I just got off the phone with my friend that told me about the job told me that they same guy told him that they was looking for ppl and that he gave him a interview the same day this was at 2pm after I went to talk to the guy about the job. my friend was white and i' am black. my friend told me he thinks the guy did it b/c i was black do you think that is was b/c of that too. that he will tell me that he was not looking for ppl but turn about and give my friend the app and a interview and did not even give me a app?

and I was dressed nice.

You need to make sure that the same person who told you there were no jobs also interviewed your friend that same day.

If that is the case, then the company seems to be practicing discriminatory behavior which is unlawful.

I suggest that you continue to pursue this issue.  They shouldn't be allowed to get away with that type of behavior.

On the other hand, try to get all of the facts together before you confront anyone about this issue.

The company's defense will probably be that the one person who you talked to was acting outside the official mandates of the company's procedures.

You will have to deal with that defense.

its sad but TRUE.  racism still exist. what goes on in somebody's mind - no one knows.  their action betrays their thoughts.  here is clear discrimination. check the race relations board in your county and make a formal complaint.  chances are nothing will come off it but awareness is heightened. so pl dont let this matter rest.  young pple like u dont need such c**p.

  also, during telephone interviews, speak with a white man's accent, then u r able to gather info to show later on, that discrimination had taken place.  if u hv the means to record the conversation, that will be helpful
