disconected my computer and took my surge protector to connect his computer. I asked him, kind of in a joke form, but he still did not give it back to me! He is also the owner of the company.

He is in his 30th, what is he thinking?

  1. Ok he is the boss and the owner so he got rights.. but he also should respect his employees and the least he should do is give you an explanation why he took it.. I would ask him.. and I would expect a response that makes sense.. at work.. an employee has to respect her boss and be professional and polite.. at all times.. but a boss also has to respect his employees and he has to be polite .. he can voice constructive criticicsm where that is needed.. but you can ask something and expect a response.. if he always acts this way.. then he is not very mature.. a polite boss would give a reason.. if he acts this way often then I would look for another job.  but not hand in my notice until I got something better and had the contract signed.... this is weird behavior on his part.  he could tell you why he did that.. otherwise he is disrespectful toward you x

  2. He is thinking he is the boss! That was rude, but there's nothing you can do about it.

Ask him 'seriously' if he plans on replacing them or if you need to go to Office Depot and replace them yourself and be reimbursed for the expense.

  3. Did you buy the surge protector or did he?  If you bought it, bring the receipt with you and ask for it back.  Otherwise, buy a new one and scratch your name into the plastic on the side.  Also put a label on it.  Keep the receipt somewhere in your records.  If he takes THAT one, pull out the receipt and show him the name on the surge protector.

  4. He's thinking that he owns the company & can do whatever he wants.  This is how corporate America works - all a bunch of A-holes.

  5. Did you ask him what you were supposed to plug your computer into?  I think he would have gotten the hint, or slid you a $20 to run to the store to get another surge protector.

  6. I bet he was thinking, "I own the company so this is my surge protector."

  7. He's out of line, a jerk, but he's the boss, so you gotta live w/ it... just ask whoever's in charge of supplies, to give you a new one. I'd leave your boss out of it, if at all possible (ie- don't confront him-- don't even ask him for a new surge protector directly, if you can help it. He'll just be annoyed; when it's promotion time, he'll think, "Whom should I promote?... definitely NOT that woman who bitched at me last week, about the surge protector!")

  8. Dose he  own the equipment?....If so then he can do whatever he sees fit

-Should give you the courtesy of a proper explanation

  9. Looks like he is willing to buy you a new computer when yours is terminated by what he is protecting his system from. ;)

It was our policy when I was the Net Admin, that we would leave old computers without UPS since we wanted the old to die off first.

If it was just a surge protector he took, he needed the extra outlets for printer or whatever else he wanted on the line.

    I won't call him short-sighted, just MYopic!

  10. He wanted a surge protector, he saw yours and took it.

He's the ultimate boss and both the surge protector and the computer are his.  Requisition another for yourself.
