  1. I'm sorry, but separate them. When  I was younger I had two parakeets that got along great until this happened one day (I never saw them fight), I went ahead to school, but when I came home one had killed the other.

  2. It sounds like your cage is definitely too small. More on parakeets;

  3. OMG you need to take it to the VET NOW NOW Be strong!!!

  4. Is the cage big enough?  Wing tip damage is often the result of a cage not being large enough.  It needs to be big enough so when the bird flaps, his wings don't touch any of the sides.  If they are still bleeding, you need to take them to the vet to help remove the broken feathers that are bleeding.  A bird can bleed to death in a very short time, and bleeding wings are the biggest cause of bleeding deaths.. You can take them to a regular vet...Please read my profile.

  5. I would get them to a vet immediately!!  Maybe something scared them during the night and they started to fly into the bars of the cage.  Please get them to a vet!

  6. I think something frightened it in the night, and it broke a bloodfeather during the time it was thrashing around.   A blood feather is a brand new feather that is growing in.  When new feathers grow in, at the base of the feather next to the skin the feather looks very pink. There's alot of blood in there which nourishes the new feather. As it grows out, the blood part gets used up and goes away.  Sometimes these new 'bloodfeathers' get broken in accidents like this, and it will bleed.  If it doesn't stop, the bird could bleed to death.  It's a good idea to ask your vet for some Styptic Powder (sometimes called QwikStop) to put on bleeding injuries, but you should still take it to the vet so they can take care of the feather properly.

    It's a good idea to cover the cage at night so that it won't be spooked by things in the room (sometimes even car headlights will scare them).  This helps them feel safe, and go to sleep...and sometimes they will sleep longer too, so you can sleep in before they see the morning light and start chirping ;)   good luck...
