I am a man. Does my face have to look natural, or with a make up? Do I have to gel my hair? Thanks.

  1. Your headshot should look like you...  not some touched up pretty boy who needs to have his face airbrushed before every audition.

When a casting director calls you in, based upon the headshot that you submitted, he or she expects to see exactly the same person they saw in the headshot.  If you cover up the blemishes that make you "You"  just for a headshot...  if you do something special to your hair that you don't do every day...  if you hide some feature with makeup, or airbrushing... you are doing yourself a disservice.

Your headshot should look exactly like you.  Don't let some slime-ball photographer who doesn't know what he is doing talk you into paying an extra ninety bucks for Make Up.

  2. It would be an excellent investment to have a hair / make-up artists to take care of those things for you. The idea is to look like you...but ideally it's the you that when you see yourself in the mirror, you think, I look GOOD today. Good luck!
