Today I saw sky writing that said Ban jumps, what does it mean?

I saw it in melbourne. I have no idea what they meant byBan jumps.

  1. It is referring to racing where, in Melbourne, they run steeplechases etc. where so many horses [and jockeys] have been killed, especially in the last year or 2.  The jockeys at least have a choice but the horses don't.  Apparently it will be phased out in the next couple of months [thank you God].


  2. It's a reference to banning horse racing over jumps. There was a jumping race in Melbourne last week where 2 horses had to be put down and several more were injured. From memory, out of 12 starters, only 2 or 3 finished the race. There is a strong movement to have jumping races banned in Victoria and South Australia, the only 2 remaining states that have them.

  3. Maybe it was to someone else who knew whatever Ban Jumps is, lol.

  4. Ban Jumps is a new law in australia, they've banned all marsupials (namely kangaroos) from jumping, the goverment needed an efficient method to spread the word so there you have it
