Question:

Today at school I got notebook raped? Can I report this?

My teacher asked to see my notebook to check on the progress of my (one page) assignment, and then, without any warning, he preceded to flip through my notebook, reading my most private of scribblings. I tried to object but he wouldn't take no for an answer. I feel so violated. Could he get in trouble if I reported him? Or would reporting him be not worth the trouble? I think I should speak up, if not for my self then for the other victims of notebook rape.

  1. You should not be scribbling private staff in your notebook. Buy a dairy instead so that you can control who looks into it.Reporting your teacher will only get you into deeper trouble its not worth the trouble.Imagine the one you reported him to asked to see what you wrote there

  2. You should not have had private scribblings in your class notebook.  Your teacher was probably looking to see if you were paying any attention in his class.   Apparently you weren't.

  3. It is definitely crossing the line.  They aren't allowed to look through your stuff unless they are under suspicion that you stole something from someone else or if they have reason to believe that you have drugs or weapons on you. Even then, they have to call a police office or security to escort you out to be searched.  I would definitely talk to a school official about what happened.

  4. no ur another of to days so called spoiled kids who take school as a social; class room not a learning center for future...never put in writing what will sink the ship as they say...lol

  5. 1) I suggest not keeping your private entries in a general notebook that you have to show to teachers for assignments, okie?  That's a good start.

    2) No, reporting that will probably not do anything.  Although, you could try!  Crying might help you appear more genuine and I would suggest not using the term "notebook rape" when you complain either.  People will just think you're complaining just to complain rather than having a legitimate concern.

    3) You could try and talk to the teacher and ask him not to read things that aren't relevant to the assignment at hand (ie, don't read your private entries).  He might just disregard your feelings and if he does, he's a jerk.  If that's the case, just make sure to separate assignment journals and private journals so it doesn't happen again.

  6. Well I have a similar story.

As I was sitting there at lunch, some guy reached behind me and turned me so that his crotch was at my butt.

    This happens quite freqently.

So I ask you: Is your notebook really that important?

  7. don't report him

you will only make him angry and anyway achieve nothing

  8. i totally understand , i hate it when teachers do that , they think they have some type of power n control !

  9. "Notebook rape"? That sounded so funny I had to click on this question! Yea it's happened to me before but the teacher read them aloud so I guess that's worse. Reporting it would make it a big deal which it isn't you should just try to keep personal thoughts out of school notebooks. They don't belong there anyways!
