Today i found a piece of silver with an angel on it and the words v k on the back...

Question

I just want to find out what it is, if anyone has ever seen something like this or if maybe its even worth something.

i tried to take a picture of it, its a little unclear but here it is anyway:

its a picture of an angel on the front and the words v k on the back. does anyone know what v k means or what this little silver coin even is?

I was asked this  same question about 8 years ago while selling diamonds and designing jewelry. I wish I could remember what my exact response was, but I don't sorry. I do remember the silversmith was a woman , had worked in Mexico  and  traveled  in the Southwestern US. I was shown 2 small circular medalions  in silver  set as earrings (undrilled). The coin or circular medalion was from the 60's or 70's I think. And yes it had some value she was a well known name especially in Mexico. But if they were from a pair of earrings and incomplete the value would go down a fair amount.When I tried to find info on her before the K may have been her middle name the V was certainly the first initial there was no last initial which makes her name hard to search. She may have also had Native American ancestory, Probibly Navajo, it might be VB, Vivian Barbonz the B was done angularly with a straight chasing tool. and partially rubbed. Also try searching 'Taxico Sterling Silver'  and   'silversmithing + Makers Marks Taxico, Mexico'.
