if you're on one of those tall rides at Disneyland or Magic Mountain. Whenever we're down there, that's always in the back of my mind. I'm on the Central Coast of CA and didn't feel this one. Any accounts people want to share?

  1. i felt todays earthquake!

think it was my first one!

  2. I'm in N. San Diego and felt it pretty good. It was a rolling feel that started small and got more powerful.

Honestly, this wasn't a real biggy for me. It might have been the size, distance or just that I remember the 1994 Northridge quake too much. That was a "rock 'n roll" quake!

I live near a Marine Corp base and the "boys" have their war games. It's strange but sometimes the war games feel like this earthquake today.

  3. I live in the Orange County are and I felt this quake for about 20 seconds.  We have a pool downstairs and water is splashed everywhere. There was no major damage but all the perfume on my dresser fell. I immediately ducked under the dining room table. I have never felt a quake as big as this.

  4. swang at the door frame and listened the noises from the wooden frame like the mast of sail boat, and at one point thought the whole roof would fall upon the floor like a capsized boat.

  5. i felt it.  it was strong.  then again i live kinda near the epicenter.. which was chino hills.  it spread all the way to san diego.  it was 5.4 magnitude.   my dad was by chino hills.  my house shook so much.

  6. I didn't feel it because I live nowhere near California. A 5.4 Earthquake can do some minor damage and it can easily be felt, that's about it. I don't mean to belittle the situation, but it wasn't that bad. I have a bad feeling California will be hit with the "Big One" sometime within the next few years when everyone least expects it.

  7. It was mild but kind of long. It seemed to last for about 30 seconds. I am near the coast on OC.

On a side note, I invented a drinking game about this. This should only be played after moderate earthquakes that do not cause significant damage but the news decides to make in to "Earthquake 2008!!!"

Get a couple of beers and a bottle of booze you like to shoot.

when someone says "rolling motion" or "swaying", take a drink of beer.

shot of groceries knocked off shelves, take a drink.

shot of lady from the USGS, take a shot of booze.

Mention of Northridge, Wittier, Landers, or "the big one", take a shot.

take a drink for every item mentioned you do not have in your earthquake kit, take a drink. If you do not have an earthquake kit, take two shots.

soon you will be feeling a "swaying" motion.

  8. I was peeing And i felt my bathroom moving like a boat... I got so scared that I left the bathroom running with my panties half way to get my daughter... And then my neighboor knocked the door asking if was everything ok, and i think he saw my assssss....

  9. I was in the tanning room in Chino Hills and I hit my head like 20 times and I the Owners of the tanning place gave me 100$ so I don't sue for my head damage...

  10. earthquakes are really scary and i think they are most scary because unlike other natural disasters, they cannot be predicted

  11. i felt the earthquake! it was scrary.

i ran outside my front yard cause my niece and nephew were out there playing and my little brother was inside so i told them to get inside but they didn't even notice.

and i was watching t.v. when suddenly i heard like people walking in my roof and i was like i wonder who is up there but then my walls were shaking and the windows too. and it was horrible i hope it stops shaking because there has been alot of aftershocks as well. it was scary because my parents were not home so i was left with all the toddlers.
