I have NEVER been a Todd Bodine Fan, but he just gained a fan tonight after hearing his post race interview. I was very impressed that he took full responsiblity for wrecking Hornaday, even though I never thought it was completly his fault.

  1. I did not see the interview (I was there and left as soon as the checkered flag flew- I was FREEZING).

But, Hornaday was driving like an idiot.  The corner before it happen, he practically ran Chad McCumbee into the wall.  I have no idea how Chad didn't wreck the field.  I like Todd a little more for simply holding his ground and wrecking him.  Hornaday was being too aggressive.

  2. Man, he was upset with himself.  From the tone of his voice to the expression on his face there was NO doubt in my mind he was 100% sincere and very sorry for what he did.  I'm pretty sure that Ron Hornaday will not stay mad at him for too long after watching the interview and talking to Todd to get his take on what happened and how it all played out.  I agree with you totally.  I did think it was almost a little hypocritical of Ron to go off so much on Todd after putting Kyle into the fence (even though I was not unhappy with the result) and the way he was driving SO agressively.  Enjoy the All Star race and have a great weekend!

  3. Todd has always been a nice guy and a class act, but he's too mainstream in CTS for me ;) Still, I don't dislike him at all.

  4. He lifted the guys back wheels off the ground in the straight? Usually means it's his fault lol...The guy did cut him off but the race is on the line there and from the in-truck view it didn't sound like Bodine let off any and he has a history of doin that sorta thing.

  5. i really think he feels bad about it.

  6. i agree, he stood up and took responsibility, almost.  he did admit he wrecked him, but really, do you honestly believe he was trying to "bump draft" hornaday up to crafton to help him? seriously, throughout the whole dogleg?  i heard that and read some quotes on nascar.com afterwards about how he was trying to help and ended up being the goat, and i just laughed. although i'm sure he does feel bad now, he felt mad then.

and he had a right to be mad - just admit it onion.  i would have loved to hear him say what he really thought, with a little embellishment:

"yeah, the s.o.b. nearly put me in the wall jumping in front of me like that. he clipped my left front,  landed on my front bumper, and just stuck there. i was trying to push hard enough to unhook him from my front bumper and then ALL OF A SUDDEN, he turned to the left...if he's going to do things like that, next time he should be sure that he's going fast enough to be able to pull away from me and pull away from me fast. or that's what happens...that's just racin' boys..."
