Todd Camplin is now in the field of the RBC Heritage
Todd Camplin is happy to be in the field of the RBC Heritage, scheduled from April 12 to 15, 2012.
He has learnt many experiences from the past and now has enough strength to cope up with stressful moments normally.
The 38-year-old head golf professional at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 7 Course, is hoping to deliver well at the Professional Golf Association staged event, right after the Masters.
“More than anything, I know what to expect this time,” Camplin said. “I know how I’ll respond. I’m looking for more success than just being there”.
The Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina, is the amazing site of the RBC Heritage. The purse money is $5,700,000, out of which $1,026,000 will be the winning share.
This will be the second consecutive year for Camplin to display his performance at this tournament.
He also played the PGA Championship, Wells Fargo Championship and finished the PGA Professional National Championship tied on the 20th position in 2011.
Recently, he played the Carolinas PGA Head Professionals Championship and was amazing throughout the event. He achieved a chance to be in the field of the RBC Heritage after hitting 67 in the first round.
He finished the second round by scoring 68. However, scoring 67, at the Berkeley Hall Club in Bluffton, impressed the officials who, consequently, issued him an exceptional invitation.
Every year, the first round of this tournament is the qualifier for RBC Heritage. Among the hundreds, Camplin was the one who achieved the honour to be selected for PGA staged event field.
“I’m a little excited about the opportunity to play in another PGA Tour event, but I think when you’re most nervous is when you step on the first tee. After that, you get yourself into a routine and work your way into the round,” Camplin said.
He added, “I think it’s probably good that I’ll be playing in the Heritage in two weeks. I’m ready to go and the anxiety factor escalates with the time you have to wait”.
The field is tough and there will be many top ranked players in South Carolina. Hence, Camplin will face tough rivals.
Only delivering extra efforts can help the leading golf professional at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 7 Course.
