I am in the middle of designing a classroom and am looking for a website that helps plan the layout so that I don't have to draw it.

If anyone has any suggestions of what I should have in a classroom for toddlers please respond.

  1. The Creative Curriculum gives a floor design. There's one for infant toddler level and one for preschool level.

You ought to purchase All About the ITERS. This is like a Bible for child care. And All About the ECERS for preschool classes.

Both things are available at www.kaplanco.com.

  2. I doubt anyone can help as you haven't given and details like furniture and room size or even class size! Just remember to kneel down so the kids can se it rather than just making it look pretty for you.

  3. More info is definately needed!

But remember to have child sized furniture, shelves, etc.  And remember to clearly define interest areas/centers.  Also, keep loud areas away from quiet areas like blocks away from book area.

  4. My daughters pre-school calss room has areas like "kitchen area", "math area", "science area" reading area, "buildning area, and of course.. the big old carpet in the middle were the children can sit on!!
