Question:

Toddler Peeing Too Little/Peeing Too Much?

Just recently, my 15 month old daughter has practically stopped peeing during the day but soaking the bed/herself through the nights. She only gets maybe 2 wet (and not even very wet) diapers throughout the day but I have to put her in size 4's (she's normally a size 3) for the night and even those get to the size of a football. The night before last i went in to check on her at about 1130 (she went to bed with a fresh diaper @ 7pm) and not only was the diaper full - but her clothes and bed linens were completely soaked.

She drinks water throughout the day - and always has, but now she seems to be holding it all in til the nighttime.

I don't think she's ready to potty train.

Any advice?

  1. Welcome to the club! Lol, my 19 month old daughter does the same thing, she had puddles on her mattress the other day after I had removed all the bedding and had to use a bucket to get it to the washer without soaking everything in sight, lol. All I can recommend is stop giving her drinks at about 530 or 6 and change her butt before you go to bed, if you can. All it is is their bladders are increasing capacity as they grow, and they are subconciously learning to hold it in when active and running around, but when they lay down and relax, it just all comes out, lol. If you haven't bought a potty, buy one now, and let her get used to it, sit her on it before baths and whatnot so she doesn't freak when the time comes to get potty trained. She may be ready to start potty training a little bit, but don't push her. My friends oldest daughter potty trained herself at 12 months old, I saw it and still don't believe it, lol. Good luck!
