MY child is 3 1/2 and has been completely potty trained for 6 months now. Recently he starting pooping outside on the dirt. he also pees outside. i dont totally mind him peeing outside when he is playing but it seems to becoming a issue. I asked him why he poops outside and he says "i dont know". He told me today he wont again. What do i do? lock the back door and not let him play outside? How do i correct him? We have a dog that poops outside and i wonder if thats where he got the idea from? How do i properly correct this?

  1. I would suggest not letting him go potty period outside.

Before he goes out to play, tell him he has to use the rest room.I would also suggest interrupting play time occasionally to take him to the potty.

He might also be seeing the dog do it so he thinks it's ok.Since you cannot prevent your dog from doing it, let him know that doggies p**p and pee outside but little boys p**p and pee in the toilet.Perhaps start a reward system for going in the toilet until he is older.

  2. don't stop letting him play outside...

just tell him his p**p and pee belongs in the potty

if you want a chezzy lie thing: his poops want to go swim in the toilet bowl... as long as he knows how to pee on the toilet... its not bad for him to pee outside... practice aiming... and he will have fun standing when he does it... let him play... don't let him p**p ever... don't let him pee very often... 1 or 2 a week...

the dog probably got the idea in his head...

  3. You have to explain to him, you cant just say, "Stop doing that!" You have to give him an explanation. Hope I could help.
