What product worked best for you with keeping your kitchen cabinets closed in which did not require screws and where did you buy it?

Or any ideas...

  1. As soon as my husband finished s******g in the last safety latch, my son (now 16) toddled in and upon finding the door wouldn't open completely, reached his hand underneath it and popped it open.

There are latches that go on the outside that don't require screws. You can put all hazadous materials in one cabinet and use one of these.

Be sure and have one cabinet that your toddler CAN get in and play and make a mess. My Tupperware cabinet was the one. I just washed each item before using it during toddler years.

  2. other than safety gate.. I would put all the chemical items from the lower cabinet on a higher one... and an easy way to keep the cabinets closed is to tie a ribbon or small washcloth or anything that resembles a rope around the handles of the cabinet to prevent the toddler from opening it.

  3. safety gate the kitchen its safer

  4. Well, if you have k***s on your lower cabinets, they have outside latch the tighten around the two k***s and click shut. However, my daughter defeated them at the age of 13 months, so we had to switch to the inner ones that require screws for installation. Landlords are required to let you install them, as it's a safety issue. Our doors were quite hard to get a s***w into, we ended up using a nail to start a hole, and taking the doors off temporairily to s***w them in tight. A bit of a pain, but they work. We also allowed my daughter to play with my pots and pans, we took the breakable glass ones out and kept them put elsewhere, and she was free to get into that cabinet whenever she wanted. Haha, more often that not my kitchen looked and sounded like that graduates commercial, lol. But it kept her busy. Good luck!

  5. we put latches on our drawers and cabinets exp where the chems are under the sink.

put knives either on a top shelf or at the back of the draw.

u can get them at Target or any big store- doesn t need screws- i cant do that at all!

also learn to put good healthy snacks on the bottom shelf of yr fridge. my3 yr old learnt early that thats where teh goos stuff is and raided the fridge- we  havent put a lock on that yet  but just changed out habits so that if he wants something to eat he will eat somethign good for him - and he can take it himself.
