  1. throw some cheerios in the big potty and let him aim at hitting them

  2. 27 months IS still on the young end of potty training. (2 1/2-4 is the more usual range, with boys tending to be later anyway.)  And since he can't talk yet, that's another reason to hold off. (One of the main 'readiness signs' for potty training is the ability and talk about, and understand YOU talking about going to the potty.  Another important sign of readiness is the ability to stay dry for a couple of hours at a time ... and of course to WANT to use the potty.

It's pretty obvious that he isn't ready yet, so, especially given his age, I would just wait a while.  There's no big rush here.

  3. Don't worry about him not sitting on the toilet, rofl. You need to go threw him and use a technique that I used because I had that same problem.

When he DOESN'T have to go to the bathroom, tell him to come over to the bathroom where the toilet is and just try to talk to him. If he runs away or refuses, tell him that the toilet is harmless and maybe flush it a few times so he knows that nothing will happen. After that, he may sit on it and be happy you told him!

    Hope I helped. Thanks!!!

  4. this may sound yuk but have you shown him what happens when you sit on the toilet? my son would not use the toilet till i started leaving the door open so he could see it was all o.k. i also had to put the potty in fron of the T.V for a few weeks but he got used to it.

  5. have you tried a smaller seat.....  you can buy one that can sit on top of the regular seat and the size will be just right for him and he will not feel like he will fall in..........

  6. you have to reward him with lollies ect.
