  1. i really like when tofu cube's are a little crispy on the outside.  get a block of extra firm tofu - don't get it if the plastic on top is bubbling up.  that means it's older.  drain it & turn it out on some paper towels.  put another folded paper towel on top & squish it down (i use plates so that i squeeze it evenly & it doesn't crumble).  cut it into cubes (smaller ones get more crispy than bigger ones), & toss it in a pan with hot oil.  flip it on all sides.  then i like to put it in some thai sauces - you can get packets of these at the store that you add soy & coconut milk, etc. to.  add veggies if you want & put over rice or noodles.

  2. I love to make tofu stir fry.  I buy a bag of frozen stir fry veggies,  I like the asparagus blend but pick your fave, and a pkg. of extra firm tofu.  Don't use the softer forms as they will just fall apart.   I heat my wok (or any high sided pan) to screaming hot and using a Tbsp. or 2 of oil, toss in 2 teaspoons each minced ginger and minced garlic, you can add chopped chili pepper too if you like it spicy. Cook that for just a few seconds and immediately add the veggies, cooking until tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes.  Add the tofu that you've cut into 1/2 to 1 inch cubes and a dash of soy (to taste) cooking until the tofu is just heated through.  I like to finish mine off with a few drops of toasted sesame oil for the flavor and a pinch of toasted sesame seeds for garnish.  enjoy!

  3. Stir fry it in terraki.  can be by itself or in veggie stir fry.  also good in smoothies. good soup ingredient too.

  4. Tofu burgers;

    Make it with lettuce, tomato, cheese, beetroot, tomato sauce (whatever you'd like on a burger) and a slice of fried tofu replacing what I guess might have been beef and some onion rings.

    My fav  ^^^^

  5. It's really more a texture than a flavour and goes great in a huge variety of things (sweet or savoury).  I recommend you fry some in some kind of marinade, or fry some and have it on toast with some miso, or order a dish at an asian restaurant.

    A pretty nice thing you can make is crushed tofu (soft or silken) mixed with melted dark chocolate into the kind of pie base you use for pumpkin pie, it makes a really smooth chocolate pie.
