  1. We love this mixed bean quorn stew I do.

    I get the chunky quorn

Fry it with onions for a few minutes, add tin of tomatoes and tin baked beans, kidney beans and or any other type of beans, and sliced carrots and veg stock cube and add it all to a casserole dish and cook for about an hour in oven and serve with mashed potatoes it's very tasty and filling.

You can add whatever veg and herbs you fancy.

  2. I'm not a vegetarian but I do like Quorn.

The mince is nice to use as bolognese or cottage pie.

I like the chicken fillets, I usually cook them in the microwave with some red pesto sauce and serve with pasta.

Sometimes I just use the chicken pieces instead of chicken in a hot pot and my hubby never knows the difference!!!

  3. I made this recipe the other night, only I used Quorn in place of the chicken:  http://busycooks.about.com/od/chickenbre...

Also, I used dried bread crumbs because I had them on hand, disregarding what the recipe said, only I used about a cup for

four cutlets.  I also used apple cider vinegar instead of the apple juice.

My husband the carnivore loved this dish and even said to me last night that he is begining to like Quorn better than he likes chicken!  Yay!

  4. You can now buy really delicious tofu from health food shops which has been marinated or smoked.

I normally griddle the tofu and add it to noodles with mange tout and red onions and a nice black bean sauce. yummy!

  5. We love to grill tofu.  Slice a package of extra-firm into 4 thick slices.  Brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with garlic salt & oregano.  Grill until lightly browned on both sides.....   I also put small chunks into soups, chili or spaghetti sauce - and silken can be used as a sauce thickener

  6. ,ant help with tofu  but i often cook with quorn  I am a cook and often use it for people who cant or don't want meat it is very good cook in same way as meat use the mince for spag bol or shepherds pie the quorn sausages are very nice a lot of my people i cook for prefer them to meat sausages

Use this link for tofu recipes! :)

  8. I use quorn all the time - we have spaghetti bolognese, quorn tikka and rice, hot mustard quorn salad, lots of stir fries and many more the list goes on it is so versatile.

Tofu i find needs to be marinated as it has no flavour-so chose your favourite marinade and away you go....good luck

  9. Just a small point - you've been a vegetarian for ten years and you STILL can't spell it................Seems like you should go back to eating meat - yes I KNOW - not an answer AND insulting. Be my guest - but I know who's healthiest just the same ! !
