Im going to summer camp on monday and I wont be able to eat 2 packages of tofu in a day, so I was wondering if I could freeze it when its just in the package with the water instead of pressing it first?

(i already know it changes the texture of it)

and another question: WHY is tofu packed in water?!

  1. toufu is a chinese staple made with curded beans & water. if you freeze it, its akin to freezing milk. it'd spoil & crystalized.

its pack in water to avoid drying. as it has a high content of water in it.

  2. First off it's packed in water to keep it from drying out and spoiling.

Tofu isn't the easiest item to bring to camp. Why not bring some Smart Dogs and Boca Burgers. They keep well in an ice chest.

If you really want to bring tofu with you just slice it up and pack it in water inside a s***w top plastic bottle - Like the one's pickels come in. This will keep in an ice chest.
