Tohatsu Outboard motor Question?

I have a tohatsu 25hp outboard motor on my boat. I was recently driving in the delta and hit a log, which made my motor kinda jump up. Now my motor wont shift past first gear. I also haven't changed the oil in a while (dont know if there's any correlation)

yup there is definately a correlation here you need to go get tht checked out pronto asap or the chances of your boat going ANYWHERE without you having to buy a new engine is NOT GOOD MAN!!!!!

1st gear huh. How many forward gears does this motor have?

Just get a mechanic to take the  lower leg off , he'll soon tell you what's going on down there.
