Tohugo has good chances of winning the Irish News Boot Room Handicap
Tohugo has the best chance of winning the Irish News Boot Room Handicap at Dundalk in Ireland on Friday, March 23, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded with a cash prize of €5,500.
A total of 14 runners have been attracted towards the 1 mile race, which is scheduled to start at 7:50 GMT, and their names are: Tohugo, Kedleston, Rasputin, Elusive In Paris, Siansa, Stagecoach, Fast On, Zahr Alyasmeen, Samollie, Ultra Steps, Queenscliff,
Armed Guard, Roman Locket and Engage The Dance.
The going will be standard and it might suit Tohugo, who is yet to win his maiden race. He is still very new to the sport, as he has taken part in five races until now, winning none of them.
However, the three-year-old gelding is quite capable of winning races and will be the one to watch out for. His best result was a third place finish at Down royal, where he was given a starting price of 10 to 1. He started off decently and showed good speed
throughout the race, but was unable to catch the top two.
Tohugo was unable to deliver a strong result in his most recent outing, as he finished seventh in it. He does not have the momentum on his side, thus the punters will be discouraged to risk money on him.
Michael Mulvany’s trainee was partnered by C. D. Hayes in that race. The young rider is relatively new to the sport and might ride the same horse at Dundalk as well.
On the other hand, Kedleston will also be the one to watch out for. He has been in impressive form over the past few months, thus the bettors will be looking to place maximum number of bets in his favour.
The three-year-old colt has participated in eight races overall, winning a couple of them. Although his strike-rate is not much impressive, it is still very good compared to the rest of the runners.
T. Stack’s trained runner has won his last two races, thus he is in great rhythm at the moment. If he continues to perform in a similar way, he will run to victory comfortably at Dundalk.
The rest of the horses do not seem to be in a good position to win, as they lack rhythm. However, nothing can be predicted in racing, which makes the sport quite exciting.
