  1. In general it is very easy.

Just make sure that the float valve on the ballcock doesn't foul anything when it goes up and down.

  2. Be careful!  I had a local plumber replace my ballcock with an american design thing which consisted of a float which goes up and down on the connection to the water input to the tank. Due possibly to the shape of the tank the float tends to stick in a position where the water will not flow to replenish the tank after flushing unless I 'flash' the bath tap on and off. Just wish I'd kept the old ballcock!

  3. its not too difficult have given you a link to refer to.

  4. not hard. follow directions on package

  5. if its the float type all you need do is pull the split pin out remove the valve body and fit a new rubber washer , 5 min job easy to do , don't forget to turn the water main off 1st though !!

  6. 5 minute job.

Mine just has one plastic nut.

Once you buy the replacememt you will either have instructions or it will be obvious from looking at it.

  7. Very easy. Get a Fluidmaster 400A fill-valve. They are under $10 and sold at Home Centers and hardware stores. The instructions are great for the DIYer and you also get rid of the ball.

  8. there's 2 types of ballcocks ....the ball or the float type....either one is a good replacement, but the float type is a bit easier to adjust.....turn off the water and drain the tank ( most can be flushed out ).... u are then going to have to remove the water line attached to the bottom of the ball c**k....a adjustable wrench is needed... then u need to remove the ball c**k nut on the bottom outside of the tank.....lift the ballcock out and replace....easy as 1 2 3 or is it easy as A B C

  9. very easy if you have some spanners, but PLEASE do turn off the water FIRST

  10. very easy

  11. Tch,tch. Not allowed to call them ballcocks any more. Sexist. Have to call them float valves!!! EC says so. What a load of..........'hooks for spherical objects'!!!

Very easy job with a bit of common sense. Try to buy one the same as you already have. Saves any complication.
