Toilet seats in cancun hotels?

am in cancun right now i stayed in about 5 difrent hotels and 4 of the five did not have toilet seats is that a mexican thing?

I was in Cancun in Jan. I stayed in our timeshare so we had toilet seats but some of the other places I went to didnt have them... I was like what the heck??

Well, although I've been to Mexico, too, I've never seen a toilet without a seat.  Sounds like a toilet seat theft ring.
