Tokes for the dealer....your strategy and do you believe they change attitude?

I walked into a small casino, a Pai-Gow dealer looked at me kind've mean when I sat at his table, I asked for 100 in reds and 10 in white chips.

I then placed a $15.00 regular bet and a $5.00 bonus bet on the table. On top of my $5.00 bonus chip, I bet one for the dealer.

First hand was a full house, I won and the dealer got $6.00. From that moment on...he was rooting for "us" to win!

Entire attitude changed....good or bad strategy?

  1. Absolutely Good Strategy! This is a great way to get the dealer on your side, and I do it in blackjack every time I play.

I place a $1 chip bet for the dealer at the start of every shoe I play, and after a particularly good shoe, I may put a $5 there.

I am counting, of course, and using the Blackjack Betting Trigger, and if the dealer knows there are tokes involved, sometimes they may "not notice" my counting technique.

Here is a link to the Blackjack Betting Trigger, I use it to disguise my counting bets and it works, since the trigger does not involve card counting, and lets you know,  independent of the count, when the odds are favorable for a raised bet.

    Good luck at the tables!

  2. Many a dealer get very grumpy when you dont tip them, if they are the type that is grumpy, then tipping them always makes them happy.  I will say that some dealers are very hard to apease, i once suggested myself tipping 10 dollars at the end of my playing session while chatting with the dealer and he argued that it wasnt enough money and that i shoudl always tip a percentage of my win.

I will also suggest that tipping the dealer by placing bets for him isnt in the dealer best interest, the house advantage widdles away at bets made for the dealer, and on average he will get the bets you place for him minuse the house advantage, which isnt a lot, but its best to just give him some chips.

I tip one dealer at the end of the night an amount i specify based on how many hands i was dealt that night, most dealers hate me because they rarely see me give the tip, but i do give it and all tip[s are sharesd so they get it.  I also may tip a dealer if he comments on some card counterish play i make, as you said, it has a very high frequency of changing their attitudes.

lastly, i wanna say that the dovers sytem is bogus, he just spams it in every blackjack answer, and you shouldnt buy it, buy a real book on blackjack.
