  1. JET Set  is quite correct I agree

  2. I don't know in total how much you'd have to pay on the tolls, but why not use the N roads instead.

You'll see much more of France that way. The toll roads, are so boring & lifeless.

Make the journey down to the south, part of your holiday. You'll be surprised by what you find.

I've done this journey many times, and have loved the little towns & villages we discovered, which, had we taken the toll roads, we would never have discovered.

  3. Michelin will give you a good comparison and tell you how much the journey will cost  on the toll roads and the N roads.

  4. it will cost you about 100 euros to travel to the South of France, stick to the N roads, they're free and you'll appreciate the countryside more.

  5. With a rough guest, it will cost you around 40 € from Calais to Marseille, by motorways !

Driving on 'nationales' will take longer, that's for sure, but if you have time to spare, at this busy moment of the year, I will recommend to take the scenic routes.

What you will save on the fees will allow you to stop in an auberge and have a delicious meal and enjoy contact with the locals !

bon appét*t et bonne route !
