Tom Brady misses practice
New England Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady, was absent from Wednesday’s practice although no indication was made that has any physical problems that would lead to a missed practice.
Before last Sunday’s 39-26 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brady was listed as probable with foot and shoulder problems. Not only did Brady play in that game, he played one of his best games of the season, going 30 for 43 in pass attempts for 350 yards
and three touchdowns.
The Patriots hope to have a healthy Brady for this Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts as the two teams renew their long standing rivalry. The Patriots and Colts have met 12 times since 2001, including three times in the playoffs.
To Brady, a game against the Colts is almost the same as a divisional game when it comes to familiarity, making his health all the more important for the Patriots.
“You look at last year's notes, and they kind of look the same with players and scouting reports and all the different things that they do well and things that we've got to try to exploit,” said Brady. “There's a lot of familiarity.”
So far this season Brady has started all nine games for the Patriots. He has a completion percentage of 64.5 with 2176 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. His quarterback rating on the season is 98.8.
The team is tied atop the AFC East with the New York Jets, and while a wild card spot should be easily attainable for the Pats they would much rather win the division. To do that they’ll need to win a couple of difficult games, starting with this one against
the Colts.
It’s very unlikely Brady will not play in this game; it’s more likely he would play hurt.  If he is unable to start, the team will go with backup Brian Hoyer. Hoyer is a second year player who has appeared in 7 games in his career and has a career quarterback
rating of 62.7. He’s thrown two passes so far this season, an incomplete pass and an interception.
