Tom Brady’s wife defends husband, pins blame of SB loss on receivers – NFL News Update
The New England Patriots are staying away from the blame game refusing to pin point any one for the Super Bowl defeat last night sustained at the hands of the New York Giants. They have been told to strictly abide by that rule.
However, if someone was unable to abide by that conduct, it was none other than the Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady’s own wife, Gisele Bundchen.
Gisele Bundchen was unable to keep silent after she was heckled by Giants’ fans in Lucas Oil Stadium over the Super Bowl loss.
Failing to hide her emotions, she blasted out at the Patriots’ receivers, who she dubbed as being responsible for the loss while defending her husband, Tom Brady.
"My husband cannot f------ throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times," Bundchen replied to her friends as the Giants’ fans continued to heckle her.
The statement was captured by on a video by theinsider.com, a gossip website.
It remains to be seen how her comments would be taken by the Patriots ‘player. Brady was unavailable for any comments while the team’s spokesman, Stacey James kept his lips sealed over the incident.
The players on whom Bundchen indirectly hit out include Patriots wide receiver, Wes Welker, Wide receiver Deion Branch and tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Welker dropped an important pass late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game while the other two were also guilty of dropping passes as the Patriots dwelled into the final drive of the play. Had the passes been taken, the result would have been pretty much
different than the 21-17 loss to the Giants.
There is no doubt that Welker was very hard hit by his shortcomings to the extent that he went near to crying after the missed pass last Sunday. Welker had admitted that he had let his team down on a pass he said he had taken a 1,000 times.
It is most likely that Brady will not take his wife’s comments easily as he is one of the admirers of Welker.
However, despite the harsh comments, it still remains a fact that Welker played a crucial role in leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl stage.
The 30-year-old player has had 122 receiving for 1,569 yards and has gone on to score nine touchdowns this season which turns out to be his career’s best performance.
Welker joined the Patriots in 2007 and has been with the Patriots’ team for five seasons and except for the year 2010, he has surpassed the 1,000 yards mark in each and every season.
