Tom Briscoe reckons that England will beat Australia in Gillette Four Nations Final
While talking to reporters on Friday, November 18, Tom Briscoe insisted that England can easily take their game up a notch as they set out to lock horns with Australia in the final showdown of Gillette Four Nation 2011, at Elland Road, Leeds.
Australia have been tagged as series’ favourites since the beginning of the campaign. The teams will are also busy preparing for Rugby League World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in 2013, and the Aussie seem to be favourites there too.
According to the Elland Road Stadium officials, the house is already full, with over 34,000 tickets already sold out on Thursday. The demand to watch the match is soaring high, which is apparent from the fact that all 500 extra tickets that were released
for sale early Thursday morning were also sold out.
There is going to be a huge audience present to witness the showdown between Kangaroos and Red Roses on Saturday.
Expressing his views about the English side’s improvement in performance during the course of the Gillette Four Nations, Briscoe stated, "Things are going well. As a team, we're performing pretty well and I think we can take a lot of confidence out of that
performance at the weekend. Hopefully we take it into this week and get a win. We know we've still got to improve a lot to win this game but we think we're capable of doing that with the squad we've got. In big games you need to step up and in finals you need
to go to that special place where maybe you haven't been before. We've been improving steadily and that's been the main aim."
Briscoe’s statement implied that if England wants to walk out victorious against Australia, they will have to focus on the their final game.
