The Manchester United midfielder is determined to impress at the 2012 Olympic Games whilst playing for Team Great Britain as he is aiming to gain a first team place in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national team as well as the Manchester United
first team squad...
Manchester United’s young playmaker has had a torrid time with injuries ever since he made his breakthrough to the Red Devils’ first team last summer. The English Premier League giants used Cleverley in the first few matches of
their previous league campaign but then Cleverley was sidelined due to an ankle injury.
It was thought that the Englishman would make a comeback near the middle of the title campaign but now things went sour for Cleverley as he suffered yet another setback and then failed to play consistently for the Premier League
contenders till the end of the title race.
Cleverley was then overlooked by Roy Hodgson for the English national team squad as well but he has now been given an opportunity to prove himself at the 2012 London Olympic Games as he has been included in Team Great Britain’s
squad by Stuart Pearce.
The Manchester United playmaker is now set to take this opportunity as his springboard to make his place in the England camp as well as the Manchester United first team for the upcoming Premier League season.
Cleverley said, "I was disappointed not to make the England squad for the Euros. I had not played a lot of football towards the end of the season, but I felt I could have brought something to the party.”
He added, “Now, hopefully I can impress in the Olympics and Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and Roy Hodgson will be watching. Our nation’s first sport is football. I expect everybody will be down and feeling a bit sorry for themselves after
the way we went out of the Euros, but what a way it would be to bounce back with a gold medal at the Olympics.”
The Manchester United youngster will hope that Sir Alex Ferguson and Hodgson can take note of his performances for the Great Britain football squad at the London Olympics and perhaps he can do so whilst guiding the home side to
a gold medal.
