Tom Cleverley wants first team spot at Manchester United – Premier League Update
Manchester United youngster, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Cleverley-c35218 has gone on confirm that he is looking to push for a first team spot at Old Trafford, this coming season.
The player took to the field last night with United and put on a spirited display. The midfielder went on to make a number of great passes and even picked up an assist on the night.
The twenty one year old was brought on for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 in the game and almost immediately went on to change United’s fate. The midfielder got involved in the game as he was part of the intricate build up play, which led to United’s first goal on the
night.
However, his performances last night are not the only ones that have won critics over. Last season, the midfielder was highly impressive with Wigan Athletic and he even became one of the best players on display for the team.
The midfielder feels that he has now done enough to prove his worth and needs to start pushing for that first team spot now.
“I have got to stake my claim now. I just want to do well for the club and personally work hard, and see where that gets me, so I am just pleased to be playing,”
He then turned his attention to this coming season and claimed his goal was to help United land some silverware this coming season. Cleverley also showed his delight to beating Manchester City, this past Sunday and hoped to do more of the same, in the future.
“Hopefully there are many more to come and this is just the start," he said.
“As a young lad you see all of your heroes climbing up the Wembley steps so it was nice to do it too.
“It’s great to get the win [at Wembley], especially against your local rivals. Hopefully we will be back here winning the League Cup in a few months, but we’ll concentrate on the league for now."
Cleverley has been like a breath of fresh air to the United midfield, over the course of the pre season. The midfielder has technique, great passing ability and most important of all, ample speed. His introduction to the United midfield goes on to change
the shape of the team and makes them more lethal on the counters.
At the moment, some have gone as far as to state that Cleverley is the reason behind United not signing any other central midfielders this summer.
Nonetheless, the player is going to get a chance to prove his worth this  coming season.
