Tom Cruise wants a loan move away & Chamakh getting up to speed with Arsenal
Arsenal’s young centre back, Tom Cruise has said that he wants a move away from London to have some first team football. Tom made his debut with the first team last season but this time he has been set aside in the reserve side. Tom said that he fears that he would lose precious time in his career if he continues to play in reserves; he said that for a player to grow first team action is essential. He said that he will talk to the manager for a possible loan move away from the Emirates.
Cruise said that he would not mind playing even in the championship. He added that the experience of playing first 11 week in and week out is more important to him than playing for a high profile club.
The centre back said that since he is in the reserve squad he will not get much action in the Premier League, but he wants to be part of the Carling Cup squad and even if that is not possible he will talk to the manager for a move out on loan.
Tom Cruise shares his name with one of the biggest Hollywood stars, but still is trying to make his name in English football. He said that if he can have a successful loan spell he may come back as a much better player and may be able to make it to Arsenal’s first team. Tom, reiterated though that he has not talked to the manager yet. He said that he would like to move to a team that likes to play a good passing game. The 19 year old also suggested that he is a very ambitious player and in the long run he will like to make the transition from being a defender to a midfielder.
Meanwhile the new signing made by Wenger this season, Marouane Chamakh has said that Premier League is proving tougher than he had anticipated. The front man from Morocco signed for Arsenal in the summer from Bordeaux. He admitted that the training regime and playing style is much more tiring at Arsenal than what he is used to. The 26 year old striker while talking to a British newspaper said that, Bordeaux has a relatively easier process of preparing the team for match days. On the other hand, Arsene Wenger believes in pushing his players to another level in training and obviously that is why he is able to produce great players from his team.
He went on to say that interestingly the time periods are much shorter as compared to how he trained in France, but it is much more intense. Chamakh said that doing the same tiresome routine for 3 weeks straight is a bit tiring, but he said that his team mates have been telling him that to last a whole long season he would have to do it. Especially considering that there will be no break in December.
Chamakh said that he is still trying to adjust to the English style of play. The Moroccan has already knocked in his first goal for the club in the league, when he scored against Blackpool in the free for all 6 nil win.
He said that compared to French league, the games in English league are almost played at 100 miles per hour. Chamakh went on to say that every player in the team has to be on the game all the time to keep pace with the proceedings. The former Bordeaux player ended by saying that he is very happy to be at Arsenal and sees a long term future for him at the Emirates.
