Tom Gillard and Sam Brearey snatch lead on Day 3 of 2012 International Fireball World Championship
First day leaders of 2012 International Fireball World Championship, Tom Gillard and Sam Brearey, have regained their top form and the overall lead at the conclusion of Day 3 at Comet Bay in Mandurah. The pair put up a scintillating
sailing show on the third day to clinch the top spot in the overall standings with 10 pints after six beats, including a discard race.

The duo grabbed the fleet lead at the end of first day with five points and were in a good form to hold on to the lead but unfortunately for them, the Australian pair of Robert Inns and Joel Coultas sailed brilliantly on the second day and took
the first and second position to snatch the lead from the British Fireball sailors.
Despite the low scores on Day 2, Gillard and Brearey did not lose hope and sprang back into the game on third day. They finish first and second in both scheduled races respectively to regain their lead. Impressive scores on the third day and
a discard race brought them on top again. The British sailors are hopeful to retain their lead until the end of the regatta to claim the title.
Second day regatta leaders, Inns and Coultas, were unable to perform according to the standards on Day 3 and tumbled down on to the second podium spot. They finished on the eighth position in the first race, while they won Race 2 to compile nine
points. However, due to a discard race and a tremendous effort on their part, they successfully managed to cling to the Number two spot with 12 points.
