Tom Hardy wants boxing elites in his corner if he fights David Haye – Boxing News
Rarely do we get to hear news that excites our nerves. Recently, former heavyweight champion David Haye challenged British actor Tom Hardy for a fight. Haye found Hardy’s physique in his recently released movie ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ quite inviolable, which
is why he asked the Brit to fight him in the ring.
Hardy plays ‘Bane’, the legendary villain of DC Comics’ superhero comics Batman. Dark Knight Rises is the third instalment of Christopher Nolan’s rendering of the comic book. Bane, in essence, is the only villain in Batman comics who is physically dominant
over the superhero.
Considering the physical requirements of the role, Hardy transformed himself into a fight machine. He looked robust and beefy, impressing millions around the world, including Haye. This is not the first time Hardy is playing a tough lad, he did so in his
previous movie ‘The Warrior’ as well, in which he established the role of a retired military officer who fights as a mixed martial artist in the present.
Hardy felt honoured when he learned Haye challenged him to the ring. Last week, the British actor spoke to The Sun, British version, commenting, “Me and Tom Hardy, that would be a good fight for sure. He has got in fantastic shape – he looks like an absolute
tank. He can be my next opponent.”
He added, “Hardy v Hayemaker? No problem. Let me take my make-up off first. I’ll fight him as soon as I get back from the Congo with my mates if he wants. I’ve never fought a professional heavyweight, it’ll be an experience. I would obviously prefer my first
professional fight to be against someone in my weight category but hey-ho. Let’s have it. We all know how this is going to end don’t we … not good for Tommy. I’ll have (boxers) Clay O’Shea as trainer and Joe Calzaghe on cuts in my corner.”
To a certain extent, hardy is up for the fight but he wants it to be a charity show. If it happens, it will definitely be one of the most exciting boxing matches our generation.
