Tom Lehman shakes the Insperity Championship with his birdies!!!
The Insperity Championship saw Tom Lehman take the lead by his outstanding stroke play. His play during the round saw him cultivating his previous form and moving ahead in the Championship with confidence and ease.
The 53 year old won his first major title in 1996 where he grasped the Open Championship. He was also named the PGA Tour Player of the Year following his performance in the 1996 Open Championship.
He is the first and the only golfer in the history to have won the player of the year for all three tours by the PGA.
Lehman’s score last week at the Insperity Championship included an eagle and five birdies that gave him an early lead in the Championship.
Michael Allen gave a great show with his performance at the Championship. He comes to Insperity after having consecutive victories and has high hopes for winning.
Lehman has been outstanding in the last few years. He was the winner of the Player of the Year last year with his three wins. He topped the Champions Tour money list with his wins and held his standard to his mark.
He holds a list of achievements to his name which includes the Arnold Palmer Award and the Jack Nicklaus Trophy that he won last year along with his player of year honour.
The Insperity Championship is a sight worth watching as the golf legends face-off giving the best of what they have. Brad Faxon won last year’s Insperity Championship and surprised everyone.
Brad was having poor form recently yet with his win he got back at his best. Last year’s Championship saw great match-ups, this year, its better and more interesting as the level of play is becoming more technical.
Lehman finds it regretful to have not appeared on the course before as he fell in love with it. "I think to myself, 'Why did I not come back here? I love this course,'" said Lehman.
He admitted that it was not appropriate to judge the course by one bad day. His performance spoke for his words as he got the lead in the Championship and is looking strong.
