Former Australian all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 from 2005 to 2007.
Geoff was present in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470, who made his Test debut against the hosts in the second game of the three-match series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Shaun’s debut was a fabulous one, as he scored 141 runs in his first ever outing in the longest version of the game. His father would have been pleased with the performance and will now consider the coaching offer.
According to Moody, “I think he (Geoff) would be a really good fit here because his style would suit the Sri Lankans as well, his coaching style, I think the Sri Lankans would really embrace it. He’s good at getting a very strong bond created very quickly,
which is important in any team environment.”
However, former Sri Lankan captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779 stated that he would like to see a local person taking over as the coach of the side, but he also had no issues with any foreigner doing the job.
The veteran batsman said, “I think we have a great opportunity to have a completely Sri Lankan coaching unit. If the administration and the captain also think a foreign coach is the way to go, that is also no problem, because there are many excellent coaches
around the world.”
The Lankan Lions have been struggling to perform well since their http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 was given charge of the team.
However, the explosive right-handed player has found it hard to perform with consistency both as a player and skipper of the team.
Dilshan has been doing a decent job in the Twenty20 format, but has been unable to do well in the longer version of the game. He suffered a loss at home soil in the One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and is trailing by 1-0 in Test series
