http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-Edward-Scollay-c93424 scored a magnificent century, guiding the Middlesex 2nd XI to 245 for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 40 overs. He scored 116 runs and ended up being the top scorer of the match.
In reply, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/D-Rees-c52046 was the highest scorer for his team with 47 runs, as none of the batsman managed to reach fifty.
Glamorgan 2nd XI’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stewart-c91370 Walters, decided to field first after winning the toss. He expected the conditions to be difficult for the batsmen in the first half of the match, but it turned out to be other way round at the end.
The start was not good for the Middlesex 2nd XI, as opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sam-Robson-c2421 was sent back to the pavilion after adding just four runs to the total.
However, Scollay played superbly with his captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dawid-Malan-c1344. The pair collected 67 runs for the second wicket partnership, guiding their side into a solid position. The latter was unable to make most of the start he got to his innings and was dismissed
after scoring 37 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dan-Housego-c1305 joined Scollay at the crease and the pair took the game away from the opposition with a terrific century partnership. They put together 158 runs for the third wicket stand.
Scollay’s magnificent innings finally came to an end in the death overs, but he had done the damage already. He ended up with 116 runs off 111 balls with the help of seven fours and three thunderous sixes.
Housego gave fabulous support to his partner at the other end and remained unbeaten until the finish. He scored 64 runs off 66 balls, smashing four boundaries in his impressive performance.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Ashling-c1239 was the only bowler from the Glamorgan 2nd XI side to cause a few problems for the batsmen, as he picked up a couple of wickets in the match.
Chasing 246 runs for victory wasn’t easy for the Glamorgan 2nd XI and they made things extremely difficult for them after getting off to a poor start. The team lost five wickets for just 59 runs on the board and it was almost impossible for them
to bounce back from that stage.
There was some fight back from Rees, who finished with 47 runs from 55 deliveries with the help of four fours. However, he didn’t get any support from the other end, as the entire team was bundled up for 161.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robbie-Williams-c2342 was the pick of the bowlers for the Middlesex 2nd XI, as he picked up four wickets in the match.
