Tom Shields occupies Men’s 100m butterfly gold – Swimming news
Tom Shields of CAL-PC occupied gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on third day of the 2013 CA TYR Fran Crippen Memorial in Mission Viejo Nadadores, California on Sunday, June 9.
The 21-year-old Shields lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the 100m discipline as he outsmarted his opponents on the finishing end for first position. His commendable form remained considerably ahead of his challengers and hit the wall for
gold medal.
Shields remained in a lead of half body length over his toughest challenger and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 52.53 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Kyler Van Swol of Minnesota-MN, who was 0.54 seconds apart and stepped on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 53.07 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Seth Stubblefield of CAL-PC, who was 1.12 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 54.19 seconds.
Nikita Denisyak of Canyons-CA, who remained only 0.30 seconds slower from his former finisher and clocked a time of 54.49 seconds, obtained fourth fastest spot of the race.
Coleman Allen of UBC Dolphins, who was 0.33 seconds apart and touched the wall with the timing of 54.82 seconds, obtained fifth fastest spot of the race.
Dane Stassi of Unat-Nova-CA, who was 0.90 seconds slower from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end by producing a time of 55.72 seconds, obtained sixth finest spot of the discipline.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Konstantin Shmy of Canyons-CA, who was 0.14 seconds slower and made his way towards the finishing end by producing a time of 55.86 seconds.
Subsequently, last spot of the discipline was gained by Chase Bloch of Class Aquatics-C, who was only an inch behind and clocked an effort of 56.03 seconds for eighth place.
Furthermore, Shields received a huge round of applause from the audience while the position holders were called upon the medal rostrum for medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
