A terrific performance by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Sunday, June 5th, 2011.
The hosts posted a very good target of 174 runs for Lancashire, but the visitors didn’t find any problems chasing it down.
The toss was won by the Lancashire captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Steven-John-Croft-c91308, who decided to field first. The pitch was very good for the batsmen and a high scoring game was expected.
However, Croft predicted the conditions to be easier in the second half of the match and his decision proved to be a very good one at the end.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Barry-McDonald-c44289. The pair put together 79 runs for the first wicket and put the opposition under immense pressure.
Cobb was the first man to be dismissed in the home team’s innings after scoring a blistering half-century.
He ended up with 60 runs from just 40 deliveries with the help of three fours and four thunderous sixes. He got out on the last ball of the 10th over, but laid a solid platform for the batsmen to follow.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Edward-John-Taylor-c65642, who came at number three in the Leicestershire innings, failed to make an impression and was sent back to the pavilion after adding just nine runs to the total from 12 balls. He struggled to get going and didn’t hit a single boundary in his

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/William-Ingleby-Jefferson-c97368 then walked out in the middle, joining McDonald. The pair constructed an unbeaten partnership of 65 runs for the third wicket, taking their team’s total above 170.
McDonald remained not-out on 54 from 49 balls, striking just two fours in his innings. He struggled against the new ball and was unable to find the boundary for most part of his innings.
However, Jefferson was in superb form, scoring 42 off just 19 deliveries. He smashed four fours and two towering sixes. His effort gave the momentum to Leicestershire towards the end of the innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Keedy-c58524 was the stand out performer for his team, picking up one wicket for just 26 runs in his four-over spell.
Lancashire needed a solid start, which was provided by their openers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stephen-Colin-Moore-c91052. The latter got out after getting a start though. He managed 25 runs from 13 balls.
However, a 45 ball 75 from Smith took the game away from the opposition. He smashed seven fours and two massive sixes in his brilliant knock. Croft also batted well for his 33 runs, guiding the team to an easy win in just 18.1 overs.
