FC Tom Tomsk’s Yuri Stepanov fears Russian First Division football next season and tips his side to gear up for Russian Premier League survival.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Tom-Tomsk-c39228 CEO, Yuri Stepanov, has expressed his disappointment on the Russian outfit’s current Russian Premier League form and urged his side to work harder in order to leave the drop zone once the league resumes in March, 2012.
Of the 32 league matches that they have played, the Asians have won just four and are currently at the bottom spot on the league table. Stepanov admitted that the Russian outfit is in desperate need of timely assistance.
The Russian national called upon a board meeting to discuss the situation with the rest of the management at the Trud stadium and assured the fans of rescuing the Sibiryaki out of the drop zone as soon as possible.
“We discussed the future of the club and the possibility of overcoming the crisis. This meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor for Social Affairs, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-c36322 Samokish and chairman of the Tomsk City Council, Sergey Ilyinykh.”
Stepanov was quoted as saying.
He revealed that the officials discussed strategies and went through different tactical approaches for the upcoming season and went on to admit that Tomsk must pay off all the debts.
Speaking on the promising midfielder, Yevgeni Starikov, who spent a terrific season-long loan spell with the White-greens before making his move back to the parent club Zenit St. Petersburg, Stepanov admitted that he is saddened
to lose a fine player.
“We regret his departure. But we knew that he was with us on loan and such a scenario could have occurred any time.” Tomsk CEO concluded.
The fact that Gazprom, a known sponsor, has refused to support the Russian outfit in a critical time period has further disheartened Stepanov and left him with no option but to knock another door for help.
“Gazprom are working on a new project and 30 percent of the pipelines will be laid on the territory of our region. I think a couple of days I'll be eighty percent ready to answer this question.” The Russian national said.
Speaking on the club president, Sergey Ilyin,
Stepanov revealed that his contract with the Russian outfit has expired and the Siberians could offer him a new contract following his inspirational role at Trud stadium.
Stepanov revealed that Ilinykh actively participated in the respective meeting and praised the President for his services.
With 12 league games left to play in the domestic league, the Asians do not have much time left to alter the situation. However, Stepanov remained optimistic over the situation and admitted that it would be a difficult task to
turn the table around.
