The out of favour Manchester United goalkeeper has been linked with a winter move to the Bundesliga outfit.
Manchester United goalkeeper, Tomas Kuszczak, is on the radar of German club, Bayer Leverkusen, and is likely to leave the Red Devils during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Kuszczak has dropped down the pecking order of goalkeepers at Old Trafford. New boys http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anders-Lindegaard-c5553 have taken over as the first and second-choice goalkeepers respectively this season.
Despite playing as a deputy to former United shot stopper, Edwin Van der Sar, the Polish international has failed to make the number one jersey his own. After falling out with Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson, the former West Bromwich Albion
star has been completely sidelined from the United first-team squad. Even the reserve team goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Amos-c7439, is given priority over Kuszczak.
The custodian was also linked with a loan move to Leeds United in the summer, but Ferguson blocked his move.
The 29-year-old’s Old Trafford career is all but over, and after failing to find a new club for himself in the summer transfer window, he will be flattered by the Leverkusen link.
Kuszczak is likely to replace another frustrating figure in the form of Leverkusen goalkeeper, Rene Adler, who has expressed desire to leave the BayArena at the end of this campaign.
However, the former Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 star is looking for a new club where he can play as a first-choice goalkeeper. The Polish shot-stopper might not be guaranteed a starting berth at BayArena too, as they are looking to sign him
as an understudy to Bernd Leno.
Kuszczak joined the Red Devils from West Bromwich Albion in 2007, and has managed to make only 26 appearances in his four-year stay at Old Trafford thus far.
The Werkself are expected to test United with a double bid in January, as they are also interested in their striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254.
Leverkusen are currently placed sixth in the Bundesliga table, and have picked up 26 points from 17 matches played thus far.
