http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s Tomas Rosicky has gone on to applaud his team mates for the way they played against AC Milan in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
The North London club took on the Italians in the second leg of their Champions League tie, following a four goals to nil loss in the first leg.
The Gunners went on to score three goals in the second leg, but failed to score another goal, which would have seen the game go into extra time.
Nonetheless, despite the loss, Rosicky has admitted that his team mates put on one of the best performances that he has ever seen and that ever single player should be proud of the way that they played in the game.
When talking about the game and the performance levels of his team mates, the Czech international is quoted to have said: "I am proud of my team-mates because what we produced today was great football, but it's sad because obviously we are out of the competition"
"We can go out with our heads held high but we blew it in Milan.”
"We knew [that we would be making history if we came back] and that's what the boss told us in the pre-match speech. Who wouldn't want to be part of something special? So of course we were up for it and I think you could see that. So it's a shame.”
Rosicky went on to score a goal in the game and the midfielder went on to explain his cheeky finish, as he admitted that he read the keepers movement and hence opted to slot it into the back o the net, instead of smashing it in.
The Gunners midfielder then went on to add: "To be honest I saw that the keeper was moving already to the middle of the goal, I saw his legs moving away from the near post so I tried to place it there and it paid off”
Should the North London club continue to perform in the same manner for the remainder of the season, they could easily go on and secure a Champions League spot in the league.
