Czech Republic’s captain, Tomas Rosicky is a doubt for his sides match against Portugal, as the player is yet to recover from his Achilles injury.
The midfielder went on to pick up an Achilles injury in the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 and so far, the player doesn’t seem to be on course to making a return to the first team.
It was previously believed that his injury was a minor one and that he would be back in a day or two. However, with him having missed training for eight days, it seems highly unlikely for him to be able to face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vladimir-c36322 Smicer when talking about the midfielder is quoted to have said: "Will he be able to play from the start? I don't think so.”
"He hasn't trained for eight days, he's only been able to do some work on the bike.”
"In order for him to play in such a tough match, he should at the very least have had three full training sessions in order to be 100 per cent ready."
The team is not going to risk playing him in the game and will have a late fitness test, which will come after the Wednesday training session that the team has scheduled.
When talking about the test and the decision to use Rosicky in the game Jaroslav Kolar, a spokesperson for the national team went on to state: "The decision as to whether he plays in the quarter-final will be taken after the official training session on
Wednesday evening”
Over his career with the Gunners, the midfielder has had his fair share of injury problems. He has gone on to miss quite a few games due to the knocks that he has picked up and he finally started to live up to his potential last season.
With this set back now in place, it is unclear as to how long he is going to be missing in action for. There is a slight possibility that the player might require to undergo surgery to fix the problem.
Nonetheless, it is a wait till Wednesday to see just how serious the problem really is.
