Tomasz Adamek: Eddie Chambers is a good brawler but has made a mistake by taking on me – Boxing News
Tomasz Adamek, the former IBF International and WBO NABO heavyweight champion, recently warned Eddie Chambers, his upcoming opponent, that he has made a huge mistake by accepting the fight proposal adding that Eddie is a good fighter but he will not stand
a chance in front of him as he has sparred for almost 100 rounds.
Adamek will take on returning Eddie in a 12-round bout which will have the vacant IBF North American heavyweight title up for grabs. The duo will meet on June 16, 2012 and will collide in the ring set up at Prudential Center situated in Newark, New Jersey,
United States.
The duo will headline the pay-per-view being promoted and organised by Kathy Duva of Main Events and the fight card will also witness Bryant Jennings take on Steve Collins for the vacant USBA heavyweight gold while constituting the co-main event.
Adamek participated in the pre-bout press conference and reiterated his stance of staying in the sport. The Polish pounder was of the view that he wants to fight for another two or three years adding that he is 100% and in great form and shape to take on
the former USBA heavyweight champion.
Also known as the ‘Goral’, Adamek further commented that he has been undergoing strenuous training for the last three weeks and therefore is feeling energetic. The orthodox pugilist pointed out that he will be equally fast and untouchable as Eddie recently
boasted in a press statement.
Adamek stated, “I sparred close to 100 rounds in training camp which is a lot of rounds for me. Eddie is saying how fast and untouchable he will be. I will be just as fast as him. I want to fight another two to three years and it’s easier to stay healthy
when you are winning.”
Currently ranked as world number six heavyweight, Adamek continued with his explanation and remarked, “I am ready 100%. We had a good camp. I will give a good show Saturday night. I know that Eddie is a very good fighter. He’s lost only 2 fights, like me,
and this is why he took the risk fighting me, but it was a mistake.”
Eddie, 30, has been in a total 38 bouts and is a bit overshadowed by the Polish pounder’s experience but still has fought some pretty hefty and intimidating names such as Alexander Dimitrenko, Wladimir Klitschko and others. Therefore an explosive clash between
two of the best heavyweights is duly expected this Saturday.
