Tomasz Adamek: I am ready to go now – Boxing News
Tomasz Adamek, former light heavy and cruiserweight world champion, Tomasz Adamek is currenly preparing for his bout against Eddie Chambers scheduled for June 16 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek currently stands with 45 wins, 2 losses
and 28 knockouts, whereas Chambers stands with 38 wins, 2 losses and 18 knockouts. The event will be aired live on NBC Sports Network’s Fight Night series.
Adamek finished his training camp this week and will be heading to the last segment of his training now. The pugilist was asked to comment his plans regarding the last segment of his training camp and he said, “Just the usual: last week of sparring sessions,
but the toughest ones, ten- and twelve-rounders are behind us now. Altogether, we had almost 100 sparring rounds done – that’s about what we wanted to do before training camp started almost ten weeks ago. Now is a time to get the energy back, getting enough
to keep Eddie busy for – if necessary – twelve rounds of high tempo boxing. I will not tell you about how many people were on the canvas during the whole training camp – this is behind the curtains stuff and we have respect for everybody we welcomed to work
with me. I’m ready to go now, weighing around 225 and expecting to weight the same in the Prudential Center.”
Adamek was even asked if he had any special strategies in mind while training for going against Chambers. He replied that he did not made any changes to his training sessions based on Chambers fighting style. According to Adamek, he does not see a reason
to treat Eddie differently, but he did watch Chambers’ fight tapes which was enough to get an idea of his fighting style. He even said that many reporters have asked him regarding any special preparations for going against Chambers to which he has always replied
that Chambers is not a special fighter, even though this fight means a lot to him.
Lastly, the heavyweight contender said that he would try his level best to ensure he is victorious. According to Adamek, this fight is his career’s most important and he will do anything to beat Eddie.
