Tomasz Adamek: I have better ring movement and speed than Eddie Chambers – Boxing News
Tomasz Adamek, the former IBF International and WBO NABO heavyweight champion, recently shared his thoughts about Eddie Chambers, his upcoming opponent, saying that 'only the man with a strong mind' will win the bout, adding that his ring movement is swifter
and more effective than Eddie.
Adamek and Eddie are scheduled to headline the pay-per-view organised and promoted by Kathy Duva of Main Events on June 16, 2012. The duo will enter the ring set up at Prudential Center situated in Newark, New Jersey, United States.
Adamek, 35, a Polish pounder, has been in a total 47 bouts and boasts 45 wins. He has collected 28 of his wins by knocking the opponent out cold and is considered as one of the best men in the heavyweight division.
Unfortunately, Adamek also tried to nail the number one heavyweight in the world Vitali Klitschko but his efforts went in vain and he got knocked out in the 10th round. Since that last loss, ‘The Goral’, Tomasz has entered the ring once and successfully
collected a unanimous decision in his favour.
His opponent, Eddie, is returning after a time lapse of almost 15 months and is looking forward to grab a swift and clean win. The 30-year-old Eddie has been in a total 38 bouts and boasts 36 wins with just eight by knockout.
Well known as ‘The Fast’, the American proud last collided with Derric Rossy and collected an impressive unanimous decision win in his favour. Since then he has kept himself away from the ring and this will be his second bout in almost two years.
At the moment, Adamek has a clear upper hand over Eddie since he is in the game and is coming from an impressive win whereas Chambers, on the other hand, is coming after a substantial time period and his jabs, body and every single aspect is rusty which
means that he will take a bit time even in the ring with Adamek to get warmed up.
This facet will give Adamek the chance to knock Chambers out in the initial rounds. During the brief interview when asked as to what he thinks about Chamber’s claim of having fast hands and the fact that he has a harder punch, the Polish proud commented,
“It’s about PRECISION and speed and not just speed. I have the better ring movement and we will have to wait for June 16 to know who has the harder punch.”
Adamek added, “The smart and the mentally strong man will win the bout. It is an important bout but not the most important one.” The duo will definitely put forth the boxing fanatics a good show but one thing is for sure Adamek has the odds in his favour
and Eddie needs to undergo strenuous training to overwhelm his Saturday night opponent.
