Tomasz Adamek: The boxing fanatics will love my fight against Eddie Chambers – Boxing News
Tomasz Adamek, the former number one WBC heavyweight contender, who recently made a successful return after collecting an impressive unanimous decision win, said that he is happy to sign the contract with Eddie Chambers, adding that he knows his fans will
definitely love the clash on June 16, 2012.
Adamek and Eddie are scheduled to take on each other in a 10-round non-title bout. The event is being promoted by Kathy Duva of Main Events and the ring for the epic clash will be stretched at Prudential Center arena situated in Newark, New Jersey, United
States.
Adamek has come a long way and recently recuperated from nearly a heavy career damaging loss. The Polish Adamek, who successfully grasped and retained the IBF international and WBO NABO heavyweight gold several times, proved that he is able to nail Vitali
Klitschko.
The bout did go well and Adamek threw everything he had in the battle but still Vitali was the better man emerging victorious by technically knocking out Adamek in the 10th round. Since then, the world number four Adamek, has fought just one man Nagy Aguilera.
During the brief interview, Adamek, also known as ‘the Goral’, said that he did not say ‘NO’ to either Kevin Johnson or Eddie Chambers adding that he was ready to test his skills and ability against both men.
Adamek said that his decision of taking on Eddie is purely based on his fans' liking, since he knows that boxing fans like energetic encounters with men throwing powerful jabs rattling each other’s brains, adding that such a game type was possible only with
Eddie and not Kevin, who prefers the defensive brawling style.
The 35-year-old orthodox said, “Kevin and Eddie are both great fighters, but Chambers wants to mix it up little bit more, prefers a more open style and Johnson is more defensively oriented. And one more fact – I never said “no” to any opponent, although
I know that styles make fights and sometimes you just cannot look good – even when you are winning the fight.”
The former IBF cruiserweight champion, Adamek, said that he does not want to waste any more time and has decided to take on three belligerents each year, adding that he will understand Chambers’ fighting style and will give fans an epic show to remember.
Adamek has been in a total 47 bouts and has emerged victorious in 45. He has lost just two bouts, one to Vitali and the other to Chad Dawson. Eddie, well known as ‘The Fast’, has been in a total 38 engagements and also has collected just two loss decisions
in his career.
