Tomasz Adamek is being hunted by Wladimir Klitschko
It is likely that British professional boxer Derek Chisora will go one-on-one with the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization’s undisputed Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko, scheduled for 11th December in Germany.
The general prediction by most people is that Wladimir will thrash and go through Derek with relative ease.
Klitschko on the other has other plans. He’s shown his keenness to take on the World Boxing Association Heavy Weight Champ David Haye from Britain. The image that Haye has portrayed in the recent past is that he is still in the initial stages of holding
his title. Hence, he has not expressed any desire to fight against Klitschko or even his brother Vitali Klitschko.
Klitschko has noticed the lack of competent opponents that he could face. However, he has openly shown interest in taking on the most deserving contender in the WBO, Tomasz Adamek, sometime in the beginning of 2011.The only way that can be possible is if
Tomasz takes on the Wladimir in the ring.
The fact remains that there are no other top possible challengers besides Tomasz. Nevertheless, with he being the only possible adversary that could challenge the reigning champion does not ensure that Tomasz will be willing to face Wladimir.
He may probably know that he is not conditioned enough to beat Klitschko. Adamek is a very experienced fighter and is well aware of his abilities. He has an immaculate record of winning 47 out his 48 fights. Among his wins, he has won a handsome 29 matches
by knockouts.
A few more fights before fighting Wladimir could be the answer for Tomasz. He has to be at his best if he decides to take on the current knockout king Klitschko, who has an influential 90% knockout rate. Wladimir has annihilated an astounding 49 fighters
in his professional boxing career. He has instilled fear in the hearts of many boxers.
Tomasz is currently ninth in World Boxing Association rankings. On the other hand, there is a good chance that David Haye may want to take on the number one ranked contender Tomasz to test himself out before perhaps showing interest in fighting Wladimir.
This would prove beneficial for both fighters as Adamek has a great shot at defeating Haye. He would also be better off if he got the opportunity to take on Vitali, the elder brother of Wladimir. Vitali is currently the Heavy Weight Champion in the World
Boxing Corporation.
Adamek had changed divisions as he gradually went higher to the heavy weight division from being in the cruiser weight category for quite a while. Since his move in weight categories, he has been very smart and intelligent in choosing opponents. He has managed
to improve his individual rankings by signing fight contracts mostly with competitors that he was almost sure he could win. Some would say he is playing it safe, but either way, his win percentage is right up in the 90’s. With 47 fights under his belt, his
statistics are highly impressive.
The full of experience Tomasz has basically made Wladimir frustrated. The reason being that
Strong and filled with endurance, Adamek has survived very close fights in the past year. He has been badly hurt in many of his bouts. Still he managed to stay on his feet. In the last year, he has suffered many beatings, especially at the hands of Michael
Grant. Michael hammered him for nearly 12 rounds.
Tomasz was staggered as the relentless Grant just beat him up round after round. Adamek was a gutsy man as he did not throw the towel in, not even against Grant who had literally turned him into a punching bag.
However, Tomasz has a brilliant knockout rate, and eventually no matter what state he is in, all he requires is one opening or opportunity where his challenger leaves his jaw and chin unprotected. He will use the first chance or mistake his challenger gives
him and execute an absolutely perfect knockout hook or upper cut.
Almost all his fights that he has been smothered in, his comeback strategy really only depends on one well connected punch. That is all he needs, one beautifully executed shot to the face.
In a number of conferences, he has publicly shown his impatience for a certified date in early 2011 to fight the top contender Tomasz Adamek.
His only wish would be to knock him out blind. It is only a matter of time when Tomasz answers the constant calls of Klitschko, and agrees to come face-to-face with him in the ring. The world would love to see two knockout experts bring the fight to each
other.
