Tomasz Adamek takes on Nagy Aguilera in a 10-round bout in March – Boxing news
The Polish heavyweight proud Tomasz Adamek will enter the Aviator Sports Complex to take on the one and only Dominican heavyweight in the boxing universe Nagy Aguilera, in a 10-round non-title brawl.
The announcement was made by Kathy Duva, the key promoter of the event and the representative of ‘Main Events’. According to the details both men will collide in a non-title fight on March 24, 2012 and the show will be televised on NBC Sports Network’s Fight
night show.
The brawl will be accompanied by two other epic bouts, one between Zab Judah and Vernon Paris and the other between Siarhei Liakhovich and Bryant Jennings. Duva while putting forth the detailed scenario said, “When we learned that Adamek was available and
eager to fight on March 24th, NBC was gracious enough to give us enough time to stage a triple header. The addition of this bout, along with the highly anticipated co-feature between newcomer Bryant Jennings and veteran Sergei Liakhovich, should truly make
this a night to remember.”
Adamek, infamous as the Goral, boasts a hefty and intimidating resume. He has thrown himself in a total 46 bouts and has lost just two. Out of a total 44 wins he has collected 28 by knocking out the opponents.
Goral last collided with Vitali Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight gold but lost his senses in the tenth round. Adamek’s opponent Nagy Aguilera, on the contrary does not possess enough experience to nail the Goral. Infamous as the Dominican Dynamite, the
25-year-old surging pugilist has been in a total 23 bouts.
Aguilera has won 17 of his fights and has collected 12 of them by kayo. Aguilera has appeared in just two title fights and unfortunately has lost both against Maurice Harris and Darrel Madison. Goral is clearly being denoted as the favourite in this bout
since he not only overshadows the young prospect by stats and experience but also by the number of titles grasped.
Goral currently holds the IBF International heavyweight and the WBO NABO heavyweight titles. He has also been the proud owner of WBC light heavyweight title. The only facet that might help the young Nagy is his height and hence the reach advantage.
Nagy’s fist can connect Adamek’s face even at a distance of 77 inches whereas the Goral can cover an area of 75 inches. The whole event is co-promoted by Super Judah Promotions and Peltz Boxing.
