Question:

Tomato plant advice?

I have been growing my Tomato plant from seed and it is strong and healthy..........albeit a little unorthodox.

My Tomato plant is growing outside and I am located on the south coast of the UK. Once it started to grow outside it developed as a very leafy and thick stemmed plant. I think this was due to inconsistent watering due to judging the weather and a lack of fertilising. I have been fertilising once a week now and the plant is flowering.

I am just concerned about the excessive leaf growth and the fact that a lot of the foliage is quite twisted and growing sporadically.

This is the first year I have ever grown vegetables and I understand this is a learning process; any advice would be much appreciated though.

Here is a photo of my plant today: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26655062@N05/2743259359/

Kindest regards,

P.S. Does anyone have a simple guide to watering a tomato plant; when, how much and how often?
