I planted 8 tomato plants this spring. They grew maybe 2 inches but still have no flowers or tomatoes. Is it too late to transplant them into new soil? If so, what's the best thing to do?

  1. That is weird, I planted mine on June 1 and have loads of green tomatoes on the plants.

My guess is that you buried them in too compacted soil and have used no fertilizer. Try loosening the soil, and using a water-soluble fertilizer like Miracle Grow.

    I live in South-Western Ohio

  2. For years now ive used my cut grass aroud my plants.it holds moisture in the soil and the plants feed off of the grass.it also keeps the weeds down.  i know this works because the first year i did this i only did it with half the garden and the side with the cut grass grew 3 times the size and had twice as many tomatoes on them.the plants looked greener and  healtier however be aware if you use weedkiller on your lawn dont use that grass it will destroy your plants you only want all natural grass

  3. Well it takes a lot of patients and water to grow a plant. I started freeking out with tomato plant too, but i just waited and before i knew it it was starting to grow.

  4. ok tomato plants need about 6 hrs sunlight min and it needs bees too pollinate the flowers so it will bear fruit...

  5. What is your soil's PH balance?
