Tomato plants in the winter

I am growing a pot of tomatoes for the first time. I let them stay in full sunlight in the summer.

Does anyone know whether I should take the pot of tomatoes indoors in winter?

Thanks.

  1. You can do this but also they need to be at least 65 to 70 degrees to keep fruiting..but they need real sun at this stage..also if you are growing determinate types of tomatoes..they all fruit out at one time and ripen all at once..then they die..So it would be no reason to take them inside..Now if you have planted indeterminate tomatoes..they fruit out and ripen a few at a time untill the frost kills the plant..they fruit continiously , so if you take them inside they will continue to grow if kept warm and in some natural sun..through a window etcetera..here is a link concerning determinate and indeterminate tomatoes...

  2. Tomatoes are annuals so new ones are planted every year. Even if you bring them indoors, they may not survive for very long.

  3. Yup, bring it inside and put it near a window
